EPC's Footcare Ministry

Purpose/Mission The Footcare Ministry exists to comfort the physical, spiritual, and emotional pain of Columbia's homeless by providing foot care in an atmosphere of respect, equality and Christian love. Our acceptance and God's grace transforms this foot washing time into a mutually rewarding experience.
Activities Every Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 - 2:30, two volunteers provide foot care and one volunteer assists the foot caregivers. Guests are chosen by staff at Christ Central Ministry. Training is given by a member of the footcare team to new volunteers. Lunch is served to the homeless and we provide foot care in an adjacent room.

The Footcare Ministry Needs You!

Has God been nudging you to step out of your comfort zone? Well, the Eastminster Footcare Ministry can help you answer that nudge. Our ministry is woefully low on Footcare servers.  We meet on Tuesdays at Christ Central on Main Street for about two hours. During that time we provide footbaths, callus removal, nail trimming, shoes and socks, and Christ’s love to four homeless people who spend a lot of time on their feet. Also, we are able to refer our guests for free medical care as needed. There are two footcare providers and one floater.  So if you don’t feel comfortable with washing feet, please consider volunteering to be a floater.  The floater is vital to this ministry.  He sets up, assists with shoe fittings, cleans up and so much more.  Still not comfortable?  Well, consider stopping by and just observing one Tuesday.  I can guarantee you will step away with a blessing.

If you have questions about the Eastminster Footcare Ministry speak to one of our servers: John Asman, Ginger Bates, Marit Bobo, Nancy Carpenter, Yolanda Courie, Sara Lynn Curtis, Lib Foster, Lewis Fowler, LeeAnn Harris, Johnnie Pearce, and Kelley Woody. We would love to share our experiences and stories with you. - Lib Foster ([email protected])
