Socks in a Box Collection

During the month of October, Eastminster’s ACCESS Ministry in partnership with Missions will collect socks for adults for use by the *Footcare Ministry.

Donations of NEW black and/or white socks for adults (men and women) are needed.  These can be ankle socks or crew/tube socks, and are greatly appreciated!

You can find solid black or white adult-sized socks at Wal-mart, CVS or other drugstores and of course, Amazon.

Bins with the “Socks in a Box” logo (like the graphic above) will be in reception areas from October 1st – October 31st.

Socks in a Box outreach was started about fifteen years ago and has been led by the Twitty and Liggitt families (with Liz and Kate’s help) for the past eight years. Your donations have helped so many over the years. This year, ACCESS Ministry and MSB are teaming up to sort the donations and prepare them for Footcare. Any overages will be given to Transitions Homeless Shelter. We are spreading the warmth however far we can.

*Footcare Ministry outreach happens each Tuesday mid-day (Christ Central Resource & Solution Center – 2018-A Main St.) to help the homeless in our community. Each person who receives care is given a pair of socks as they leave. If you are interested in volunteering for Footcare, please contact Lib Foster (libfoster@aol.com).
