Eastminster is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, creative and motivated Christ Follower to fill the role of Communications Specialist. This new position has been created to support and collaborate with the Senior Communications Officer and her team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, a passion for storytelling, and an understanding of what makes a church community thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborative Communications: Work with the Sr. Communications Officer and Programs Staff to handle daily and weekly communications deliverables, ensuring content accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Content Creation: Identify and develop inspirational stories about church members, conduct interviews, and develop articles and testimonial videos for Eastminster Today Magazine and other church communications.
  • Proofreading: Assist in proofing and ensuring the accuracy of electronic communications, including eNews, Daily Devotionals, and other church publications.
  • Website Updates: Post bulletins and content updates on the church’s website via WordPress.
  • Video Announcements: Manage the process for Sunday AM video announcements, including scheduling, script queueing, video recording, and adding B-Roll footage.
  • AV Support: Schedule sound technicians for Sunday services and assist with AV-related tasks, including video recording and script preparation.
  • MailChimp Management: Assist in proofing and scheduling Daily Devotionals and Weekly ENews, as well as managing the church’s MailChimp audience list.
  • Graphic Design: Help design eye-catching graphics and visual content using CANVA for church communications.
  • Social Media: Create a content calendar for church social media (Facebook & Instagram), write captions, select images, and schedule posts.
  • Additional Support: Assist with photography for key church events as needed and help maintain the YODECK system for managing church announcements on flat screens.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field or commensurate experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a communications or marketing role.
  • Strong proficiency in CANVA, Google Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Hootsuite, Facebook, Instagram, and familiarity with WordPress and ability to become proficient in other software (YODECK, Shelby, eSPACE, etc.).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Comfortable working with Ministry Chairs/Officers to support special projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of church life and a passion for supporting a healthy, growing church community.

Additional Information:

  • Training will be provided for specific tools such as YODECK, Planning Center, and AV equipment.
  • The role may evolve with advancements in technology and changes in church communications.

With over 65 active high school youth participating in Eastminster’s youth program, the Associate Pastor of Senior High Youth and Their Families offers an exciting opportunity for an ordained, Spirit-filled, youth minister passionate about helping young people grow in their faith. The Associate Pastor for Youth and their families will be responsible for:

  • Planning, recruiting, and equipping leaders for the weekly youth programs.
  • Planning and organizing confirmation for ninth graders.
  • Planning and participating in Senior High summer trips.
  • Planning and participating in overnight weekend fellowship activities.
  • Planning and organizing Youth Sunday.
  • Serving as part of a multi-pastor team of seven ordained pastors. This team of pastors rotates hospital coverage, Day School Chapel
    and attends meetings with staff and the senior pastor.
  • Occasionally participating in weekly worship including preaching and conducting weddings, baptisms, and funerals as requested.

Job Summary
Eastminster Day School is seeking a nurturing, energetic, and dedicated full-time Lead Teacher for our two-year-old classroom. The Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in fostering the physical, emotional, spiritual, and developmental growth of each child. This individual will develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with age-appropriate activities, incorporating weekly or monthly themes. The Lead Teacher will also ensure that a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment is maintained for all children while effectively communicating with parents and fellow staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Eastminster Day School in a professional and positive manner in all communications, dress, and attitude.
  • Develop written lesson plans that include developmentally appropriate activities based on individual children’s needs.
  • Provide a weekly/monthly newsletter and calendar to keep parents informed of classroom activities, themes, and upcoming events.
  • Maintain a balanced daily schedule that includes indoor/outdoor activities, teacher-directed/child-initiated activities, quiet/active times, and both small and large group settings to foster well-rounded development.
  • Regularly assess each child’s development and tailor activities to meet their needs.
  • Conduct parent/teacher conferences at least once a year, or more frequently as needed, to discuss individual children’s progress and concerns.
  • Engage with children in a meaningful and respectful way, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Use positive, appropriate discipline strategies in line with the EDS discipline policy to ensure the safety and comfort of all children.
  • Provide constant supervision and ensure children’s safety at all times, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Maintain an attractive, engaging, and safe classroom environment that promotes exploration, movement, and interaction. Adhere to health and safety policies to ensure cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance rosters (sign-in/out sheets), incident/accident reports, field trip permission forms, and leave request forms.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with children, parents, co-workers, and other Eastminster Presbyterian Church staff.
  • Arrange for a substitute when necessary due to illness or personal absence.
  • Arrive on time each day and for scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Communicate classroom plans with Assistant Teachers, ensuring that they are effectively directed and supported in implementing activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
