A Prayer for Wisdom

Posted in

“Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you….”

Proverbs 4:5-7

I desire to live a life of faith in God, but I get stuck in the everyday challenges in front of me.  Do you ever feel like this? If you are with me on thoughts like this, will you join me in my prayer and quest for wisdom?

I think oftentimes as women, we feel a great deal of pressure to be perfect in every aspect of our lives, whether it is to be the perfect Christian, wife, mother, friend, daughter, employee, or boss.  I know I feel this way sometimes.

During the If: Gathering over the past couple of years, a room full of women worshiped together and learned from awesome Bible teaching.  I left the event so filled with the Holy Spirit! Jennie Allen- teacher, author and founder of the If: Gathering- says, “So many of you are facing suffering, frustration, conflict, or even just how to raise your kids or how to deal with debt.  And what I know is that it is powerful and possible to believe God and watch him move into these everyday parts of our lives. And the book of Proverbs is about just that. And it draws people to Christ if we live this way.  So let’s get together for God and find out his way of living instead of our way.”

Will you join me in my prayer and quest for wisdom?

Prayer:  Lord, I pray for wisdom and I thank you for the book of Proverbs that will lead me in the right direction.  Amen.
