Make the Most of Your Time
Posted in Stewardship/Giving
“Be careful then how you live, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Ephesians 5:16-17)
When you hear the word “stewardship,” what comes to mind? For most people it holds a monetary connotation, which is definitely one side of stewardship. But stewardship extends to our time as well. We are all given an allotment of time here on earth, and so many things pull at that bank of time. Sometimes we use these precious moments wisely, investing in things that matter, and other times we seem to waste it. I know that applies to me. Sometimes God stirs within us, either gently or not so gently, asking us to take stock of our earthly time.
Ephesians 5:16-17 tells us that we must make the most of our time on earth. One way we can glorify God is to use the talents he provides us to serve others. That looks different to different people. Sometimes our talents translate easily into service and stewardship, and other times it’s more challenging to see where we can plug in. We can ask God to help reveal how we can be a blessing to others.
Dear Lord, help me make the most of every second here on earth. Help me use my time wisely to glorify You. Amen.
