Provider

Scripture: “And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19

“The struggle is real.”  How often do we find ourselves saying these four words, mostly jokingly in casual conversations with family or friends?  If I’m being honest with myself, I have said this phrase a lot over the last few months.  Whether it be my wife and I both trying to do our day jobs at opposite ends of our dining room table, making sure our oldest is caught up on all her class assignments, or attempting to potty train our youngest, the “chaos” has definitely been real!

Like most of us, I have worried a lot about my job during the pandemic. What happens if I lose my job?  How will I get another one during these times?  These are questions I would harp on every day, leading to a ton of anxiety.

Cade Thompson’s “Provider,” was the perfect song for me to hear a short while ago and really gave me a great sense of calmness and peace:.

‘Cause what you give me Lord is more than I desire

You’re my Provider

When I lose my way You lead me through the fire

You’re my Provider

Even on my darkest day You show me where the light is

You’re my Provider

And when my strength is gone I know where to find it

You’re my Provider

We all know that the LORD will always provide for us.  Sometimes, it’s hard for us to trust in that, but HE does provide…always!  If you find yourself in that daily struggle, I pray we’ll all take comfort in knowing that God will always provide us what we need, when we need it.  After all, if God is for us, who can be against us?

Prayer:  LORD, thank you!  Thank you for loving us and providing for us.  May we always trust you and your plan for our lives.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
