Blessing of the Animals – Peace Service on the Field

April 26, 2026
4:00pm - 5:00pm
Field Across Trenholm Rd.

Blessing of the Animals Peace Service on the Field is April 26th at 4 p.m. (If it is raining, this event will be cancelled.)

Invite the neighbors and bring your pets as we bless our furry family members, remembering the joy they bring to us and our call to care for the earth and its creatures.

Each pet will receive a special blessing and commemorative certificate. This is a family-friendly, community event. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair.

This year, we are partnering with PAALS (Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services). Click the button below to make a monetary donation or donate items from their “Wish List.” You will also be able to scan the QR Code when you get to the field on Sunday. Please do not bring any pet donations to the field.

More details from Membership & Outreach:

We are so excited to invite you to attend our 2nd annual Blessing of the Animals Service on Sunday, April 26th, at 4:00 PM on the Field. Pastor Emily will lead our Order of Worship, assisted by Pastor Carol, for the blessing of each animal in attendance. Grab your lawn chair and a leash as we prepare to worship the Creator of All in this year’s service! Please read further for more details.
  • As you arrive on the Field, please stop by one of our Welcome Tables to select a pet bandana of your choice for each of your furry friends. We will also have pet treats, bags for waste clean-up, and water available for both our two- and four-legged attendees. As you receive your pet’s Certificate of Blessing, we’ll have markers available for you to fill in your pet’s name. *Please make sure your pets are on leashes and small pets are secured in carriers for the safety of all our friends.
  • In the spirit of giving, you may wish to support Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS), by making a financial offering or fulfilling wishlist needs. PAALS’ mission is to enrich and empower children and adults with physical, intellectual and emotional disabilities by training service animals and providing animal-assisted educational, therapeutic, and recreational activities.
  • Parking will be available on the field for individuals with limited mobility or handicap placards. All other guests are asked to park on EPC’s campus (using the crosswalk to cross Trenholm Road) or the lot adjacent to Trenholm Road UMC.
Please help spread the news – All are Welcome!
