Welcome

Welcome to Eastminster Day School, a ministry of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.  The staff and I strive to provide the highest quality early childhood education and care for children as part of the total Christian Education ministry of Eastminster Presbyterian.  Our being able to be a partner with parents as they raise their children in a Christian environment while supporting the development of their child (physical, emotional, social and spiritual development), is such a wonderful opportunity.

Children ages six weeks to four years old attend our school.  We have nursery, toddler, two-year-old, three-year-old, and four-year-old classrooms.  Our classrooms are staffed to ensure a low staff to children ratio, enabling more individualized attention and instruction.

As an outreach to the community, we provide afterschool care for school-aged children, kindergarten through fifth grade.  Eastminster buses pick up children from surrounding elementary schools and bring them to our Day School where they are involved in devotional time, completing homework and fun activities.

The mornings are instructionally focused.  Children are taught through integrated units of study.  These units include language arts, math, science, and social studies concepts.  Afternoons are still instructional, but less structured, allowing time for lunch, rest time, age-appropriate and extracurricular activities.

As part of our spiritual development, children listen to Bible stories, learn Bible verses, say blessings and pray in their classrooms.  Every Wednesday, our three and four-year-old classrooms go to chapel in the sanctuary.  They sing songs, recite scripture they have memorized, say The Lord’s Prayer and listen to a children’s sermon.  Chapel plays an important role in the spiritual development of our children.

The Music Director of Eastminster Presbyterian teaches music to all children, Nursery to Four-year-olds. We believe that music supports the spiritual development of children. They learn songs about Jesus and faith as well as musical concepts.  Music plays an important part in their development.

I hope our website provides quality information.  If you have questions, my staff and I will be glad to talk with you.  Please call 803-771-1512 so we can assist you.  I would like to invite you to tour our Day School.  Please call me to schedule a time when I can meet with you and take you on a tour of our classrooms.

Sincerely,

Jenny Young
