Adult Sunday School

Sunday School is an integral part of Nurture Education and Discipleship at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Fireside Class: We are a group of mixed ages, both single and married, with and without kids. Teaching responsibilities are shared between the two leaders, and occasionally class members, in a mix of lecture and discussion. The class also has outside social activities.

HOPE Class:  We grow spiritually through group discussion and lively teaching which is shared among a team of teachers. Our studies range from topical to Bible studies and family issues such as marriage and parenting. We enjoy social activities like class camping trips with our families. We are a mix of single and married people ranging in age from late 30's to late 50's. ALL ages are welcome!

Ichthus/Disciples:  Our class is dedicated to Bible study and discussion. For more than 25 years our class project has been the support of scholarships for students at Bethel Evangelical Secondary School (BESS) in Dembi Dollo, Ethiopia. This class is ideal for individuals and couples who want to study The Bible in a small class setting.

JOY Class:  Our class name reflects our seeking to serve “Jesus first, Others next, Yourself last.” This class is a place to grow in faith and life, even as we help our children do the same. We are an active group and are intentional about involving our children in service projects with us. We welcome soon-to-be parents and parents (married or single) of young children to join us each week.

Gift Class:  Join us as we Grow in Faith Together! We enjoy discussing the lesson after it’s been presented by the teacher for the day. Along with meeting together on Sunday mornings, our class enjoys occasional social gatherings and service projects. We are mostly young adults from college age to early 30's.

CALM Class:  An ideal class for young adults from college to mid 30's. We are currently going over New Testament chapters using "Life Lessons" by Max Lucado, which we find helpful and easily applicable to our modern lives. Join us in class or meet us at one of our social gatherings! CALM stands for: Celebrate God's Goodness, Ask for Help, Leave Your Concerns with God & Meditate on Good Things

Parenting Teens:  We don’t have all the answers but are wrestling and growing together as we work to raise our children according to Biblical principles in a very fast-paced and challenging world.  We rotate between Biblical study books and parenting of teens books All parents who have children in the tween or teenage and college years are welcome!

Solid Rock:  We continue to grow in the Spirit, consistently with our Reformed tradition, through study of The Bible, music and art, and social time together. The lesson is usually presented by one person but discussion is always welcome. Our class is made up of individuals and couples who prefer a smaller class setting.

Spiritual Discoveries:  Spiritual Discoveries:  We are a lively group, with class-led discussion being a key part of our time together. New members are always welcome! Our members range from age 40 and up, but all ages are welcome. Our attendance is usually around 40 people per Sunday. Please join us as we study and grow through conversations with each other and prayers to God.

Ted Haigler Class:  We use “The Present Word” curriculum. This class is ideal for men of all ages who desire a traditional Sunday school format in a smaller setting, with ample time given for discussion questions.
