ASSOCIATE PASTOR FOR SR. HIGH YOUTH & THEIR FAMILIES
Eastminster's Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is in search of an Associate Pastor for Sr. High Youth & their Families. Jimmy Long chairs this search committee. This pastor will have particular gifts for, and responsibilities in, the areas of Senior High Youth/Families and Young Adults up to age 33, even as this person will have generalist duties related to worship, congregational care, missions, preaching, weddings, funerals, and presbytery involvement.

DIRECTOR OF CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER (MINISTRIES)
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

Position Description: Assigned to a non-exempt position in a director role. Principal Function: Responsible for managing Eastminster’s Christian Life Center and overseeing its total operation.

Relationships:

Internal:

Reports directly to the Business Manager.
Relates closely to the Director of Plant Operations when requesting facility setup requests and A/V requests.
Relates with staff as needed daily and during weekly staff meetings.
Relates to CLC committee by serving as the staff liaison and attending monthly meetings.
Relates with church members using the gym, exercise facilities and/or fitness classes.
Supervises the part-time CLC assistants, Programming Coordinator, and CLC volunteers.

External:

Relates to non-EPC members who use the gym, exercise facilities and/or fitness classes.
Relates to individuals using the CLC for non-fitness activities.
Relates to vendors providing health and fitness classes.

Responsibilities:

Manages and supervises the overall programs of the Christian Life Center by complementing the overall mission and ministries Eastminster Presbyterian Church, in coordination with the Church Business Manager.
Leads in developing and implementing a strategic and long-range plan for the Christian Life Center.
Develops and implements procedures and policies for the functionality of programs and groups who utilize the Christian Life Center.
Manages the day-to-day operations of the CLC, including the scheduling and training of CLC staff and volunteers while overseeing all CLC programs, activities and events.
Performs administrative tasks as required to maintain the operations of the CLC, including communications, budgeting and development of necessary CLC reports.
Monitors the operations of the Eastminster Key Card Access security system in the CLC which includes managing and issuing all CLC access cards and maintaining application files.
Maintains proper care and maintenance of all CLC-owned exercise and/or recreational equipment. Recommends the purchase of new equipment and the disposal of old, outdated or unsafe equipment.
Recruits, trains and motivates volunteers to assist in carrying out the mission and ministries of the Christian Life Center.
Serves as the staff liaison for the CLC Committee and works with the chair on issues related to the work of the CLC including monthly reports to the Diaconate and Session.
Coordinates the up-keeping of the equipment.
Coordinates and acts as liaison on all sports activities and all sports leagues in which Eastminster teams participate.
Works the registration desk as needed.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Characteristics:

Is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and committed to serve Him through ministry.
Has a bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of experience in managing a recreational/fitness facility.
Has 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience.
Demonstrates vision and passion for the ministries of the Christian Life Center.
Is highly organized and self-directed, requiring little supervision.
Is able to relate well to people both in person and by phone.
Is able to pursue continuing education opportunities to enhance the ability to fulfill the position.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is:
frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, talk, hear, drive and ride.
frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls; and to reach with hands and arms.
